Overview: Ursands are rare, beautiful, but deadly species of unknown origin. Their unique appearances have always been their pride, but ironically, it also the thing that almost brought their species to extinction. Fascinated by their beautiful looks, many Ursands were captured and made into “wild pets” by nobles and royalty alike. Ursands' hunter were a thing at one point in their bloody history.
The Ursands who were lucky enough to escape slavery can now only be found at Land of Hibra. Even then, it’s very hard to find their village and unless you’re an Ursand yourself, don’t even dream stepping into their territory.
Appearances: Ursands are bipedal species with humanoid face and body of both humans and animals. Their animal aspects are limited to only common mammals, amphibians, fowls, and reptiles. How much animal part one has differ from one individual to another; sometimes it can amount up to 90% of their body, other times it’s only 40%.
The child from union of two Ursands will only have animal aspect of one parent. However, their humanoid part can be a mix of both parents. If it so happened that a child was born from Ursand and other race, their offspring(s) won’t inherit any kind of animal part from their Ursand’s parent.
Behavior: In the past, Ursands are generally civil species who, though reserved, were active part of community across the continent. However, recent incidents of hunting and slavery have changed their behavior greatly. They generally became wary of strangers and won’t hesitate to kill if they ever made one false move. This violent behavior is more prevalent for those of different races.
The young Ursands who don’t know the hardship their elders went through are generally more mild-mannered, however, it’s been chiseled into their minds to became suspicious of others.
Average Lifespan: Ursands are known for their short lifespan, averaging from 40 to 50 years old at the oldest. It is not uncommon, however, for them to start dieing at their thirties or even younger age.
